Our day at Comic Con Holland

We had the best time at Comic Con Holland Spring 2025. The moment we walked in, we were impressed. There was a great atmoshphere, a lot to see and do. After a quick round to find out how big the comic con was and what should be on our to do list, we quickly began!

Our first real stop was the Grand Theft Auto reunion panel. Even though we only caught part of it, it was great to see them share their stories. I absolutely loved playing GTA when I was younger and I still do.  It’s always fun to hear about the behind-the-scenes work that goes into such an iconic franchise.

Next up: Renée O’Connor! Yes, Gabrielle from Xena: Warrior Princess! I was so excited. (Excited is an understatement). I’ve watched Xena multiple times over the years and own all the seasons on DVD—so seeing Renée live was so cool. She was absolutely lovely and very kind. I loved getting an autograph. It wasn't even my first Xena encounter; I had the chance to meet Ted Raimi (Joxer!) at a previous con, and he was just as charming and funny as you'd expect. It was great to see Renée, especially knowing I would see her panel later that day as well.

Liv had a major Star Wars moment when she met Denis Lawson, aka Wedge Antilles! She got an autograph and also got a selfie with him. He was so friendly.

Time for food! We recharged with a delicious satay lunch. We were so happy when we saw this stand. We always love this food. Fuel for the rest of our adventures! After lunch, we watched Renée O’Connor’s panel, which gave us even more insight into her experience filming Xena. A highlight was seeing Renée sing the Joxer song with the audience.

We stayed to watch the panel of Matt Denton and Kyle Soller. Matt, one of the creators behind BB-8 and other droids, had fascinating stories from behind the scenes of Star Wars tech. Kyle, best known as Syril Karn from Andor, had some great stories to tell as well. It was great to hear them talk about storytelling, design, and working in the galaxy far, far away.

Then: merch time! I was so pleasantly surprised by the variety—everything from vintage action figures to collectibles and movies. I even found some fantastic Criterion 4K editions. Total score! After browsing through the merch, we went back to the guest area.

Liv met Peter Weller and got an autograph and selfie. Yes, RoboCop!

Later in the day, we checked out the Baldur’s Gate reunion. It was a treat for the fans of the game, with the voice actors sharing fun moments and insights. We were both amazed by the amount of public not only at the panel, but mostly also the queue for Neil Newbon´s autographs and photo ops. He was very popular.

After that we stuck around for the Iron Fist panel. It was cool hearing from the cast about their experience working in the Marvel TV universe.

One of the highlights of the day was our photo op with John Boyega. He was incredibly friendly and warm. We love his role in Star Wars movies and absolutely enjoyed meeting him.

And then we were still not done. Liv went to meet Finn Jones (Iron Fist, Game of Thrones). He was very nice and down to earth. It was at the end of the day and he came back to do the selfie, so that´s awesome.

Comic Con Holland really delivered. We laughed, we geeked out and we met awesome actresses and actors. It was a great mix of nostalgia, fandom, and fun. Can’t wait for the next one!
