Tip of the week: Suits

Last week we chose a comedy to share with you guys! It was time for some laughter. Yes, last week's series tip was the Office US! That series always makes me laugh so hard. I work in an office myself and that makes it even more fun to watch.  But: it's not always just fun and pranks! So I decided that it's time to look more serious at office work. That's why this week I'm choosing Suits as a series tip!

Suits is about a group of lawyers. One day, Mike walks into the office. He stumbles into a job interview with Harvey Specter. And he gets hired! Only thing is: he lied. Mike is a genius. But: he didn't finish college. And ge sure not finished Harvard Law like he makes everyone believe.. In this series you get to see how Mikes develops and tries to keep his secret. But you also see the rivalry in the office, the cases they have and the personal relations.

How about the actors?

Mike Ross is played by Patrick J Adams. I didn't know him before watching "Suits". Let's take a look on Imdb to check out what else he did. I'm surprised to see he played in "Legends of Tomorrow"! Still have to watch that show :). Before "Suits" he played in the mini series "Rosemary's Baby" (Has anyone seen that?), "Extreme Movie", "Old School" and more.

And then there's Harvey Specter, played by Gabriel Macht. Gabriel is an American actor, also known for "Behind Enemy Lines", "The Recruit" and "The Others". Harvey is one of my favorite characters in "Suits"! Whenever he opens his mouth: Good quotes are guaranteed! Harvey is calculated, determined to reach the top and loyalty means everything to him!

Now on to my favorite character of "Suits": Donna! Donna (played by Sarag Rafferty) is Harvey's legal secretary and she is just AWESOME. She knows everything.. Talks to everyone.. and very smart and fashionable!

Let's not forget Gina Torres as Jessica Pierson, Rick Hoffman as Louis Litt and Meghan Markle as Rachel Zane!

Who will like this?

It's always a bit of a discussion whether this is a 'womans series' or not. I don't like to generalize, but on the other hand, most people that I know that love this series are women. I know a few guys who love it too. "Suits" is a combination of comedy and drama so it says on Imdb. Well I'm not that sure about comedy. I wouldn't define it as a comedy.. How about you? I think you should watch it if you like lawyer series, but don't want to see 'just' the cases. It's not comparable to something like "Law & Order". That also focuses on police. Here it's really about the lawyers. And not just their cases, but the situations at the office as well. I think you can learn a lot from this strategically. Just like from "House of Cards" ;).

How many seasons?

6 seasons up until now. Season 7 will most likely air in 2017!

My opinion

I enjoy watching "Suits"! Its not that there are a lot of cliffhangers that make me come back. But it's the strategics that I like.  I like observing how important loyalty is. And how far it can be pushed? What can you do to win a case, or get that promotion. It contains billions of awesome quotes and it's definitely inspirational! And there's a 'romantic' touch as well. Who doesn't root for Mike and Rachel?

I'll share some great Harvey Specter quotes with you:

- "I don't take meetings. I set them. And my respect isn't demanded. It's earned.c

- "You wanna lose small, I wanna win big."

- "You don't send a puppy to clean up it's own mess."

- "I don't have dreams. I have goals."

Oh, and another thing I LOVE about "Suits": They make references to movies and series all the time! They quote a lot. And that's great. Louis loves to talk in quotes!

Rate

Imdb: 8,7

Mine: 8

I've heard a lot about Suits, and many of my friends (women, actually) have recommended it to me; but I am always a bit scared of getting into series that have been for quite a while since I never seem to find time to finish them :(
    Maybe one day!! :)

it's abit hard to imagine how can someone lie about his academic achievement and gets hired just like that! but then again, it's a fiction so what's not possible? sounds like it's going to be an interesting and fun series to watch! i'm getting a little bored with big bang theory, perhaps i can check this out soon!

I don't own a television so I'm out of the loop when it comes to television series. This one sounds intriguing, I may have to watch it on netflicks!

I haven't heard of this series before, but will definitely give it a try, as I am actually struggling to find an interesting series to watch. I used to be a huge series addict, my favourites are : Dexter, Sherlock, Luther and House of Cards.

Intriguing. I sort of like the premise... and because there are now 6 seasons, it means I can watch from season 1 without the need to wait for the release. I will write this down and watch this at the end of the coming DC TV series... Haha. I have to control what I watch so I do not end up spending more time than what i could. :)

WAAAAAH!! I do watch them and Harvey is my favorite! I'm in law school now and I keep on imagining myself if I would have Harvey's persona whenever I attend class. He just slays it! Donna is like a psychic. I don't know about you but I'm sort of shipping DarVey!

I love watching that TV Series SUITS. When I watched the first episode, I was already hooked. Yes, I finished the whole season already and can't wait for the next one. The last episode from the last season was the BEST episode ever. As much as I'd love to share the whole detail here, I won't because I don't want to spoil it for others. Watch it!

I like Suits, too! I haven't caught up though. I think so much has already happened but it's a great show. I like Harvey. Aside from being handsome, he's smart and witty.

I am a fan of Suits! It even got me hooked on bagels hahaha... And my favorite characters are neither Mike nor Harvey, it's Donna and Louis. Louis is such an antihero, but I like it when he realizes his mistakes or when he shows his soft side. And Donna, I mean who doesn't like Donna? She's Donna! The woman who can do absolutely anything.

I still haven't seen the latest season though, but I'll make time for it soon.

Surprising to me that it's considered a woman's series. I know more guys who are into this. I've watched some episodes sporadically. I love the theme and the feel of the show. It's for the career-oriented

I love SUITS! I used to work in corporate London and some of the things remind me of the old life there. It's so funny and I can see myself in Mike Ross too. Just a little bit ;)

Just to be sure if I have seen the guy, I did search who is Patrick J. Adams and lo, I still don't know him but he's good looking, eh. I'm pretty sure I'd love it too just like how my sister and I love the grey's anatomy series.
